Private re-union

This is Rosazlita Mohd Tahir, my college  mate when we were doing the Preparatory Studies at Section 18, Shah Alam (in Class C3) way back in 1986-1988. Your host has always like to fondly call her Rose.

Private re-union.
(Notice the box in the middle of the table - cupcakes for her!)
We were so excited to be able to meet up with each other after almost 23 years! The recently held KL 30th International Book Festival was the contributing factor to make this private re-union possible. We caught up with each other as much as we could do. Children, family, career were among other things we talked about. Had we more time, we would have been able to really have a calm un-rushed talk. We plan to have another proper private re-union soon!

Rose, thank you for your time for I knew you were terribly busy working. Love your warmth and your display of excessive happiness in life, naturally and effortlessly!

Say-No-Evil Club

Getting ready for the informal gathering of the club members!

Say-No-Evil Club

The co-founders of the Say-No-Evil Club.

8 more vacancies for membership!

Whatever it is, Say-No-Evil!
It was such a lovely evening had it not because of the fog. This was done last 4-10-2010. The area was infected with aedes mosquitoes. They waited for casualties to happen then only they cared to smoke/fog the affected area only.  They'd rather save on the costs of a few mili-litres of the chemical fomaldehyde and some petrol than saving human's lives!
Sometimes your host wondered, why was it so challenging for the authority to have a regular intervals of fogging the housing estates irregardless of the seriousness of the threat by the mosquitoes! ;-)

Of all the places - Part II

Front (L-R) : Pak Abu, Ashraf, Amirul
Back (L-R): Ikin, Yours Truly, Ichah, Jumee, Ramli

It was such an experience to walk across the river on a hanging bridge. Even the smallest participant approved the fun and excitement to be sitting on the bridge. It was such  a relaxing experience! (More photos to come later!).

Enjoying the cool breeze in the Botanical Garden
(L-R: Ikin, Jumee, Your Host, Ichah & Ramlee)

This place is so comfy!
(L-R: Jumee, Your Host, Ichah, Nan &  Ashraf)
The Botanical Garden really offers a vast varieties of flora and fauna of Malaysia. We enjoyed the view, the flora and fauna and most of all the cooling air! It was so refreshing and invigorating! Had it not because of limited time, we wouldn't mind roaming the garden to the very end of it.

Perfect strangers

This weekend was such a blessing. Your host found new friends out of three  perfect strangers! We share the same interest in baking.

We baked and decorated the cakes together. It was such a great experience to get to know these three beautiful ladies who show great determination in learning new skills. Your host is proud to have known them!

The proud pioneer students of Ms Daalia of  Lea  Oven!
The spirit of encouraging and supporting each other that these beautiful ladies displayed really impressed your host. They patiently learn and re-learnt the techniques and supporting and encouraging each other to do their best.

Their friendliness really took the shyness away and in no time we were talking and laughing with each other with ease as if we had known each other for years!

So it was true that strangers are indeed friends you have not met!

To all these potential business ladies, Kudos! You are all simply awesome!

The love of my life

This Kopitiam has the TV3 Jalan-jalan Cari Makan Plaque.
Not bad eh?

Waiting for that ever famous Laksa!

We smell the food coming! Woowee!

Hmmphh... I am not paying for the order.. ;-(

Voodoo puppet..just in case.. ;-)

Can't tahan the smell..
Huaarrrggghh .. can't tahan the tiredness already!
Being able to spend the weekend together was simply blissful! We had a great time together despite the tiredness from the bus ride. These are the reasons! Thanks a lot sons!

Friendship

Great minds think alike - hence the same colored outfits!
This is Najmi. She was  your host's room-mate during her years at varsity. We have not met each other since 1994 when your host left school.

She has not changed much, except that she was looking more gorgeous and as jovial as before. We spent time together that Saturday (16/4/2011) catching up with each other, reminiscing good old memories.

She now has three growing up gorgeous/handsome looking sons. How time flies and to be able to catch up with each other after we are married and have family was simply great!

We have always enjoyed each others' company. And to do just that during our meeting last Saturday was effortless!

Thank you so much for your kindness to have spent the time with your host, Najmi! Your host would definitely love to meet up with her again soon!

Pursuing the dreams 16th and 17th April, 2011

I had a tremendously fun filled weekend (16 & 17th April, 2011) for two main reasons. First I  got to see/meet up with Ms Najmi, my room-mate when I was reading Law at UiTM, Shah Alam in 1992. (The meeting will be accounted for in a separate write up later!)

The other main reason that colored my weekend red was the opportunity to get to meet the awesome Ms Daalia Abdul of Lea Oven in person and be one of her pioneer students for the Bake with Chocolate class.

I was too excited to attend Ms Daalia's class that I reached her place one hour earlier than the class commencement time. That was made possible because I coincided with her at the traffic light towards Kota Warisan! What a lucky day it was! It saved me a lot of unnecessary time wasted and the hassle looking for Ms Daalia's place had we not met on the way!
The gorgeous Ms Daalia Abdul of Lea Oven and Yours Truly
I was ever so grateful to get to learn to bake, trim, cut, layer/fill, cover and decorate the chocolate cakes with ganache and chocolate flowers and chocolate leaves.

Chocolate Moist Cake
To be able to bake and decorate this Chocolate Moist Cake was a really awesome experience. The class is pricey but the experience and knowledge gained is priceless!

Thanks a lot, Ms Daalia! You are such great teacher! i am forever indebted to you!

My mother

Mother
Mother, thank you for teaching me all about life and being a woman. You are one great woman I am proud to call Mother. If it was not for your struggle and hard work, we wouldn't go through school and colleges and varsities. Your tireless and never ending efforts to see us through is so great that we can't repay. You have gone through thick and thin to keep the family healthy and well taken care of. I love you dearly, Mother. And may God bless you with great health all the way through. Happy Mother's day soon, Mother.

Family

Family
First ever family photo, sadly without Father. This was taken almost a year after he passed away.
Standing in the front row from left, Zainab, Jumee, Salbiah, Mother, Asmah Laili, Suraya and yours truly. Back row: Amin, Zainal and Sulaiman.
(Not in the picture: eldest brother, Jemburi)

Excuses buster!

After contemplating between a motorcycle and a car, we decided to give him the latter. And this gift was especially for him to facilitate him attending to classes comes rain or shine. This is my excuses buster. No more excuses not to attend classes and/or library.

JMU 2968
He is still startled with the gift. And we hope that he won't abuse this.
Dad drove the JMU all the way from Air Hitam to Shah Alam!
Despite frantic traffic that day, we managed to bring the said JMU safely to its new driver. It was so touchy when he said to me that although it's a small car but it is surely a big gift for him! Take great care of yourself and my car, son! ;-)

Siblings rivalry at its best! ;-)
