Nature that caught my eyes!

We drove past this bridge every time we were on our way to visit my youngest sister at Kota Masai, Johore. Some said this bridge is haunted! But thank God we have not met with any unwanted encounters! ha ha
Double A Bridge on  Pasir Gudang-Desaru Highway
- taken using my Blackberry
I was pleasantly surprised to see this picture. In fact I had been trying so many times to capture the double A effect in a photo and this turned out perfect! Woo hoo!
Sunset at Jalan Cheras, Kuala Lumpur

I think I personally like this photo the most! It was so enchanting and beautiful I couldn't resist snapping it!
Sunrise from the window of our hotel in Cheras

I found something lifting my spirit each time I look at sunrise! I am not sure what caused it but it made me feel calm and refreshed! And I love that feelings!
An afternoon at Ranau, Sabah
- also taken using my Blackberry
And this place really made my heart stopped for a moment! It was so peaceful and fresh and calming too! Its Ranau, Sabah (the Land Beneath the Winds) and if I can choose, I wouldn't mind spending my life here! It is so relaxing!
Come and visit Ranau!

The Big Bad Wolf at Danga City Mall, Johor Bahru 24th May - 2nd June, 2013

The Big Wolf is scamming the book while
charging his phone!
We decided to stop by Danga City Mall, Johore for this time BBW Book Sale. Those books are being sold very very cheaply, from RM1 to RM30 per book! And we did not want to miss it this time when the BBW comes this side of the Peninsula! I remember asking my son to buy me a few books during the last BBW at Kuala Lumpur. And he bought me mostly cake decorating  books! One son that knows his mommy's interest! :-)
A very positive caution, I like!
Love the meaningful caution printed on the book mark!
Res Ipsa Loquitor!
One interesting button I found deserving of my fridge.
Does it apply worldwide?
 And another one!
The chosen ones!
And we ended up with more than a dozen book from the easiest to read to Food Bible! And I am very happy I made this purchases! For RM153, I got all these interesting books! Wowweee!

One weekend and 5 weddings!

CB plus to block all those carbs!
I always love receiving wedding invitations and fulfilling each one of those. The CB plus preparation helped me block those carbs from the excessive eating at the weddings! We attended 5 weddings (all Malay weddings) this weekend (25th - 26th May, 2013).

So you can imagine the type of food those hosts were preparing for their guests! We had from buttered rice and beef rendang, fried chicken, vegetable curries and fruits and jelly/frozen yogurt and sweet wheat and kidney beans porridge to rojak petis! And  we have had life music to karaoke to Islamic DJ entertained us while we were eating those delicious food! It was just awesome!

Husband and wife team attending their rojak stall

Such big crowd at the wedding! They seemed oblivious to their surroundings when they were so engrossed in conversation with the person sitting next to them. Its awesome how they can just pick a conversation with each other like they have known each other for ages! Perhaps this is what we call the "kampung hospitality"!.
Husband enjoying his food
Hurmm.. this rice is very soft and yummy, Dik! Come and have a few mouthfuls! To which I preferred the desserts and the rojak!

And of course we were given a lot of gifts as a thank you gesture by the hosts. And these are silk purse and pencil case with very nice embroidery flowers. I simply love all these!

It was such a busy weekend - for a good cause, of course! And I simply love and appreciate the warmth each and every host displayed. Some asked about how our children were doing by mentioning their respective names! Some asked whether I am still teaching! (What gave them the idea that I am a Teacher, I myself found it funny!) But generally its their way of expressing their warm hospitality.

So I always thank them for inviting me when I go and shake hands with the women host. And told them that I liked their food. Most of the host will be speechless but later gave me a very sweet smile and warm hugs before we part our ways.

I am looking forward to attending another series of wedding invitations come this 1st June, 2013!

Kota Kinabalu - Day 2 - Signal Hill Observatory Tower

Waiting to observe the sunset!
It was such an awesome experience to be able to enjoy a magnificent view of sunset from atop the hill. Many onlookers came ready with their high tech cameras and lenses to capture the best view of the sunset. And to see the sun going down was really an awesome thing! Everyone was impressed!
Sweet little Ikin and Mommy, Ibu and Nenek

Catching a glimpse of dusk with Ashraf
Ashraf insisted to wear the Hawaian design shirt - his favourite shirt actually! And he looked so comfy and at ease with that floral design. One boy that has his own idea of fashion! :-)
Thank you for being here, dear!
And we were glad we could be here, doing this! Thanks all!

Cupcakes Decorating Class for Children

The last school holidays gave me an opportunity to invite these children to get their hands dirty with butter cream. Each one of them learned how to do simple decoration on 6 cupcakes. They were enjoying themselves, except that I did not expect them to be very small children!
Piping Sun Flower design!
This girl was very shy at first but soon got used to the piping bag and she was engrossed with the butter cream. The Sun Flower design was requested by them!
The youngest of them all - piping a Sun Flower!

What do I do now, Teacher?

Hmmphh.. is this okay, Teacher?

Let us put some leaves to the Sun Flower, ok?

Jaw dropping ice cream swirls!

Ikin and Ain: we did it, Teacher!

Ikin and Ain were enjoying each other company like they have been friends for long! Children make friends effortlessly!
Pffttt... I can do it too!!

Let me give you a shower of sprinkle!

Ikin trying her hands at making the Elmo!

See, my Elmo is smiling!!

Put a tiny bit of icing behind the small flower!
Errr.. boy, were you listening? Boy? Boy?!

Ikin, helping Ain to affix the silver bead in the middle of the flower

With such concentration!

Oblivious!

Still working on the silver beads

The grass cutting machine seemed to be more interesting!!

And we did it!
Notice the smallest boy posing in such a way!
And the children brought back 6 decorated cupcakes! The smaller children seemed that they were not that amazed with their creations! Were they not adorable lot of children?! Congratulations, children!

Friends forever
This was taken last (2012) Hari Raya. It was such a pleasant thing to have Idayu and her husband, Mustaffa and her son, Sinan to come and visit us, all the way from the London. We spent half a day in the house, eating all the Hari Raya delicacies and catching up with each other. We shall always treasure this moment and we hope to be able to visit her and her family in London one day!
Thank you for this beautiful friendship, Idayu and let's keep it alive for our children to know that friendship remains and never can end!
